Humanity Direct Santa Virtual Challenge (1st - 24th December): a virtual event, raising money for life-changing, life-saving medical treatment for children overseas.

Please join us for this advent calendar Santa Virtual Challenge! Set yourself a goal to achieve, earn a medal and Santa buff to recognise your achievement, as well as helping raise money to change children’s lives in Uganda.

Whether you do 50km or 300km in 24 days you will see your progress on the leaderboard as you work through the different distance medals. The entry fee is just £15, 100% of which will go to Humanity Direct, and you can also make additional donations to help one of the patients. This is amazingly satisfying to see as you watch their operation become fully funded.

Why not get your family and friends involved, to create a bit of competition, to see who can go the furthest in 24 days.

You can record your distance automatically through Strava, Garmin or Fitbit, or you can add your distances manually if you don't have any of these services.

8 of Humanity Direct's patients are featured on the booking page and, if you wish, you can directly help to fund their operation through your entry fee for this event and any additional donation. Click on their picture and we'll record your choice in the entry form.

You are making a significant difference to these childrens' lives.

More Information

Who are Humanity Direct?

XNRG's long-standing charity partners, Humanity Direct, do amazing work in Uganda and beyond, providing life-saving and life-changing medical support and operations to children in developing countries. All the funds you raise as part of this event will go towards their projects in Uganda, including performing surgery and supporting their ongoing Spectacles for Children programme.

How it works

  • Enter here and contribute toward an operation of a specific child or donate to Humanity Direct's Universal Fund. You can also set up a fundraising profile with Humanity Direct.
  • Connect your Strava account to your entry profile on UltraBritain (don't worry: you can also enter your mileage manually during the challenge)
  • Line up your shoes / layers / santa suit / best bobble hat for the start of the event on 1st December and challenge your friends to beat your distance (if you're competitive!)
  • GET MOVING! Anything on two legs counts towards the distance. Walking the dog, couch to 5k jogs, training or running an ultra - EVERY MILE COUNTS
  • Check your progress on our live leaderboard. Get your friends and family involved and see who can contribute the most miles!
  • Keep it going until Christmas Day, check in with us on Facebook for photos and social fun, and keep those donations coming
  • Enjoy the big day; we'll send you a special Santa buff and medal (with a 50km, 100km, 150km, 200km or 250km distance ribbon) through the post in the new year.
