Pony Express (14-15th October): a two-day, 60-mile ultra marathon through the incredible New Forest

Stunning ancient woodland, pine forests, ponies and grassy expanses – the Pony Express is diverse countryside at its best, making this race a star in the XNRG calendar. The 60-mile circular route is evenly split into two ultra marathons over two days.
As with all of our events, everything is taken care of at the Pony Express so you can focus on the experience! Overnight accommodation, evening meals, showers, breakfast, food and drink at checkpoints, free parking, and even inspiring guest speakers in the evenings are all included.

You can enter the whole weekend event including food and accommodation, or individual days.
Entries will close one week before the event (or when full). A waitlist option will be available if the event becomes fully booked.

Just under 90 minutes by train from London, the New Forest feels like a world away. Featuring ancient woodland, spectacular glades and incredible open heathland, it's home to thousands of ponies, cattle, donkeys and deer who are free to roam. The New Forest has no markings in the form of signposts or post discs but the route will be well marked with arrow signs at major direction changes with confidence tape. You'll also be given a route card and map, designed to help you through any trickier sections. We recommend familiarising yourself with the route before the start of the race - for more information download our full race instructions.
We'll start and end at Brockenhurst College, with overnight accommodation, evening meal and breakfast at The Burgate School and Sixth Form, Fordingbridge, SP6 1EZ, included for two-day participants, and available at a supplement for one-day participants. Sleeping accommodation is in the school hall, with a dedicated rest area and dining area also provided. On Saturday evening we'll also have a fantastic guest speaker.
Everything is looked after - all you need to do is run (or jog or walk!)
There will be three checkpoints each day, fully stocked with water, and sweet and savoury food to keep you fuelled.
The event is supported by a Course Manager and a fully qualified medical crew will be in attendance. We strongly recommend taking a moment to read our medical page before booking.
The only compulsory kit is a fully charged mobile phone and a minimum 500ml of water, but it's worth taking a look at our recommended kit list.
Other equipment may be made compulsory by the race director depending on the weather.
Getting to and from the event
Parking is available at Brockenhurst College (the start) but we recommend taking advantage of the easy train links:
Brockenhurst Station is a five minute walk from the start and finish points of the event where trains run every 30 minutes to and from London Waterloo. There's also an hourly service from Reading.
There's a camp site with full amenities just 10 minutes on foot from the Brockenhurst start and finish points - ideal for the family!
